The 2026 NATIONAL ORGANIZED RETAIL CRIME BLITZ is scheduled for August 1 through August 9, 2026.
To help support participation across the Mid-Atlantic region, MAORCA will be hosting a planning and discussion Virtual Meeting on Tuesday, July 14 at 2:00 PM.
The purpose of this call is to help interested partners think through what a successful local or regional blitz effort can look like. MAORCA leaders will speak directly with local groups, retailers, law enforcement, prosecutors, and partner organizations about:
What has worked well during prior retail theft and ORC blitz efforts
Common mistakes that can limit the value of these operations
How local statutes and charging thresholds can impact planning
Ways retailers and law enforcement can better coordinate before, during, and after the blitz
Resource ideas for agencies and retail partners
A practical planning template that local groups can adapt for their own markets
